Laura Vincent, currently living in the San Francisco area, is recognized for her recitals,
chamber music concerts, orchestral work and for her solos with
orchestras. She has performed nationally and internationally
in such places as Leipzig, Germany; the Juilliard School in New
York City; Portland Oregon, Redwood City, CA; Daytona Beach,
FL as well as in many concert venues in New England. She is an
active proponent of living composers having premiered works by
Mascari, Elizondo and Child. Ms. Vincent has performed with many
orchestras and was a member of several professional woodwind
quintets and flute/guitar duos.

She has created and developed many programs
for young musicians including masterclasses, practice auditions
and chamber music ensembles. Mrs. Vincent has also appeared at Flute
Fairs around the country as well as the National Flute Convention,
performing, teaching traditional flute masterclasses and giving
workshops on performance anxiety and stage presence. Besides her
teaching and coaching,
she also offers a unique service to flutists by acting as an instrument
consultant when flutists wish to purchase a new flute, headjoint
or piccolo.
Mrs. Vincent received her MM in Flute performance
from the Boston Conservatory where she was a scholarship student
of Lois Schaefer. She earned her BA from Brandeis University and
holds a Graduate Certificate in Medical Social Work from the Institute
of Health Professions, Massachusetts General Hospital. Other principal
teachers include Jeanne Baxtresser, Linda Chesis, Leone Buyse and
William Grass. She has done extensive coaching with Keith Underwood
and voice teacher Dixie Stewart Johnson in New York.

Laura Vincent is a remarkable flutist
and a most inspiring teacher. She has an unquenchable curiosity
and a passion for learning that makes her a very creative
teacher and performer.
Her enthusiasm and talent have always brought

Professional affiliations include membership
in the National Flute Association and the Greater Boston Flute Association.
She is a former Vice-President and board member of the James Pappoutsakis
Memorial Fund. She was elected a member of the music honor society
Pi Kappa Lambda while a graduate student at Boston Conservatory.
In addition to her musical activities, Ms. Vincent is a nationally
certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor. She holds
a brown belt in Kempo Karate and studies the Alexander Technique.

Listening to Laura, one enjoys her beautiful
natural tone, her personal warmth, her feeling of partnership
with her accompanists and her serene sense of timing. I applaud
her explorations of new repertory and her commitment to the
compositions she selects.
