The greater Boston area is blessed with having the finest flutemakers
in the world located within a 20 mile radius of the city including
Haynes, Powell, Brannen, Burkart Phelan and Williams Flutes. Mrs.
Vincent has assisted many students and professionals in selecting
flutes, piccolos and headjoints. She has collaborated closely with
Williams Flutes in the design and particularly the tonal palette
of her own Williams instruments and is a frequent visitor to the
Powell, Brannen and Burkart Phelan shops.
Her students play on the Powell 2100 flute,
the 3100 flute, Brannen Millennium flute and Burkart piccolos as well
as Williams, Brannen and Sheridan headjoints. She is equally well-acquainted
with intermediate level flutes (Yamaha, Emerson, Armstrong, Gemeinhardt,
Pearl and Seaman and Boston Legacy piccolos) and has a long term relationship
with Ted Herberts Music Mart in Manchester, New Hampshire where
many students purchase this level of instrument. Mrs. Vincent has
successfully guided many students and professionals through the process
of evaluating equipment.

Laura Vincent has an unerring ear for discerning and
discussing the
intricacies of sound production. I have become a better flute
maker and
musician through our many hours of
conversation analyzing and evaluating various alloys for flute
construction.
