Many festivals, masterclasses, universities, conservatories and
summer programs now require a CD, cassette tape or video-tape of
a flutists playing to be included in his/her application.
Getting a superior product from a recording session requires a completely
different mind-set and approach than performing.

Laura contributed a great deal to the
March, 2002 session I did with Liz Leehey at Tufts University.
She gave good, calming advice to the performer, used her experienced
ears to help get a nice balance between piano and clarinet
and played the role of producer in helping to decide what
sections needed to be redone. I was very glad that Laura was
there to assist for this session

Laura has assisted students and professionals in recording demo
tapes and CDs by guiding musicians in pre-production preparation,
producing the actual recording session and post-production editing.
Many important questions need to considered such as location for
the recording, repertoire, accompanist, availability of piano and
kind of piano, tuning, hiring a recording engineer, using a producer
and budget for the project.
Please contact Laura to get
more information about her consulting services regarding recording
projects.
